Got an old staff photo? It would be great to have the whole collection up here. One form every year. If you have a staff photo but not the tech knowledge to upload you can lend it to Tim Belgio 369-6100 Mary Lou W
blackdirt@super-highway.net or Jim Ensign 717-7757 for scanning. Or if you are high tech then email it to
beach@ensigns.us the maximum file size is 4 MB and jpg files are preferred. If you are comfortable with you computer you can post photos and entries on your own. That saves Jim volenteer time and gives you the most control. See below for more info.
Format: Photos should be in jpeg or gif format and hopefully compressed as small as possible (but not so poorly that you can not see faces). Many will have to be scanned. For staff and team photos there are lots of faces so I suggest 100-300 dpi.
How to upload Photos OR create entries:
Request an author login by emailing beach@ensigns.us Print these directions out.
1.login at: https://app.onlinequickblog.com/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/Dashboard.aspx
2. on the green menu bar select "Manage Entries, "new entry" (or "Entries" to edit).
3. Be sure to fill in the Title: and Excerpt: box on every entry (or the full entry will appear on the home page and look screwy). If you are not including an image in your entry skip to step 8
4. There are icons across the top of the editing box. Explore them with your mouse and choose "Insert images from gallery"
5. Find the upload image tab. and browse to as many images as you want (4 MB Max per image) upload 4 images at a time. Repeat as necessary. (I recommend keeping all images under 1 MB)
6. Choose the my images tab. Your images will be at the end of the list. Click one and then OK
7. Drag a corner of the image with your mouse to change the display size of the image. Repeat this several times till it looks right. Try to keep the width less than 3/4 of the size of your editor box.
8. Edit text (like a caption) give the approximate year if possible.
9. Repeat steps 5-8 as necessary for additional photos.
10. Select a category (or 3) from the list under the orange "select categories" button.
11. Double check step 3. and save your entry. choose the "view blog" tab and double check your entry in a normal view.
If you will have a lot of photos you can create your own Free photo site at one an online photo site. Then any author can then link to them from this blog page. We recommend http://www.fotopic.net but other sites are http://photos.yahoo.com, http://photos.msn.com, http://www.kodakgallery.com/, or http://www.photoaccess.com.
