Below are several alumni events planned for July 7-9 2006.  Some are Park District sponsored events. Others are "unofficial events."  Register for unoffical events at http://www.ensigns.us/beach/paypal.htm   We have found 100-200 old staff but many may not know the schedule.  Still there are over 400 on our lost list as of July 1.  For those who get the word here is what we have planned.

Saturday July 8th.  11 am to 8 PM Official Centennial Beach 75th Anniversary Aquathon (water show and water carnival).  There are games and events planned all day.  We believe beach admission will be waived for all on July 8th.

Saturday July 8th 8:15 pm to 11 pm Country Lakes Social  Unofficial Drinks and unofficial hors' douvres at Country Lakes Golf Clubhouse.  Admission is $5-$10 by online in advanced or $15 at the door.  Food and beverages will be included in admission.  Registration costs are merely to help us plan a great event but the event will be subsidized by Belgio's.  You will not want to miss this event. The Saturday Social will include beverages and snacks as long a s funds hold out.  But at some point we may go to a cash bar.  Casual dress is optional.

Sunday July 9th.  Unofficial Beach Staff Alumni Pier Tag and Float.  9-11 AM at the Beach  no kids.  Just come and participate at your own level of energy. We are unsure of admission fees for the Sunday Float

Sunday July 9th 11 AM onOfficial NPD approved Staff Alumni Picnic at the Beach.   This is an official NPD event which may includes free admission and food.  If you want to register for the Park District Alumni Picnic then register by emailing them directly at:  alumnipicnic@napervilleparks.org  That picnic is 11 am to 4 pm at the Beach Sunday July 9th.  Alumni and thier registered families are free.

I discovered this website among a bunch of notes while typing up the list of alumni, it is pretty cool to see how the beach has been such a big part of people's lives, I know it has been in mine.
I am working at the beach right now as a lifeguard and have also been helping with some of the preparations for the Anniversary party on July 8th. We have a list of about 350 alumni put together by a bunch of old lists. We have old addresses and numbers. The plan is to send out invitations to the people on that list. Andrea Coates, the aquatics director at the Park District should be sending them out to the addresses we have.
July 8th will be free all day long. Check out this website for more specific info on the day events:

As a current staff member, we are very excited to meet the alumni. We can't wait to hear your stories and learn about the infamous names painted on the walls of the guardhouse.
My e-mail address is: swim2gap@aol.com, feel free to let me know of any questions you would like me to ask current management about the official events at the beach.
      Thanks!

      Jim -

Any chance I can get an exemption from the no kid rule for Sunday morning? My son of 10 years old will be traveling with me. He could certainly stay out of the water, but I don't think it would be too responsible to leave him alone outside the gate.

      Thanks,

      Joe

For old beach staff coming to the reunion from out of town with kids, I thought I would let you know the Park District built a nice skate park at the Beach near the warming house.
